Available to Active Employees Only

In planning for your future, it is vital that you have the right information. That’s why we have prepared two pre-retirement planning seminars: one for our members early in their career and one for members who are near retirement.

  • Fine-Tuning Your Retirement Plans: Developed for active members within 5 years of retirement. This format emphasizes financial planning and estate planning strategies for your retirement years.
  • Planning For Your Future: Developed for active members in the early stages of their career. This format emphasizes savings and investment opportunities available to you to supplement your Fire & Police Pension Plan.

Seminar attendance is by invitation only. Members are invited to seminars based on years of service and level of interest.

  • The Department of Fire and Police Pensions will mail you an invitation.
  • If you respond to the invitation and we select you to attend, you will receive a confirmation notice indicating time and location.

Your spouse or domestic partner is encouraged to attend! The seminars are currently being held at the Grace Simons Lodge from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

  • Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2009 - Planning - Tier 5
  • Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2009 - Fine-Tuning - Tier 5
  • Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2009 - Fine-Tuning - Tiers 3 & 4*
  • Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2009 - Planning - Tier 5 - CANCELLED
  • Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2009 - Fine-Tuning - Tier 5

*Note: In 2009, there will only be two Fine-Tuning seminars for members of Tiers 3 & 4.
