Megan M. Hernandez is a public servant who has been committed to equity, inclusion, diversity, and access for almost two decades. She has worked on a variety of issues, including revenue and taxation, arts, education, and public safety. She has worked at various levels of government including county, state, and on a national presidential campaign.

Megan is known for being collaborative and relationship-building. During her time in state government, she managed a historic bill that provided a method for California’s community college students to cost-effectively advance to the California State University system. At the County of Los Angeles, she has advocated for increased funding for arts and culture while prioritizing cultural equity and inclusion throughout the Department of Arts and Culture.

A native Angeleno, Megan is passionate about giving back to the city in which she was born and raised. She has served as a Board Member for the Los Angeles County Young Democrats, Vice Chair of the Cudahy Redevelopment Oversight Board, and a member of the Bell Redevelopment Oversight Board. Megan earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Loyola Marymount University. She currently lives in El Sereno with her husband, two children, and dog.
