As Departmental Chief Accountant, I am responsible for the fair presentation of the financial statements of plan net assets and changes in plan net assets in conformity with generally accepted accounting principles, as outlined by the Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB). The Accounting Section ensures the timely and accurate processing of the monthly pension roll as well as the yearly tax statements (1099R) of retirees. We implement the Workers’ Compensation recapture program for retirees who have been granted a worker’s compensation award in addition to a disability pension.
