LAFPP is honored to receive the 2026 Real Estate Strategy Award from Markets Group. The award honors LAFPP’s dedication to long-term investment excellence and its strategic approach to real estate. Investment Officer Claire Magallanes accepted the award on behalf of LAFPP at the 10th Annual Real Estate West Forum held on October 14, 2026. In her acceptance speech, Ms. Magallanes thanked the LAFPP Board, General Manager Joe Salazar, Chief Investment Officer Bryan Fujita, Deputy Chief Investment Officer Annie Chao and the Investment Division colleagues for their leadership and high standard of disciplined investing. The LAFPP Real Estate portfolio includes a balance of income-generating core investments and return-seeking non-core investments. Investing in high-demand sectors such as housing, necessity retail, logistics, data infrastructure, and assets that support essential services have generated positive returns above the benchmark and contributed to the purpose and mission of LAFPP: to advance the health and retirement security of those who dedicate their careers and risk their lives to protect the people of Los Angeles.
