LAFPP Hits $21 Billion

For the first time in LAFPP history, the Fund’s total assets reached an unaudited market value in excess of $21 billion dollars as of July 18, 2017.  This increase, up from the June 30, 2016 value of $18.53 billion, is reflective of the City’s contribution of $637.7 million on July 15, 2017 and a preliminary unaudited investment return of 12.9% for Fiscal Year ending June 30, 2017. The Fund experienced strong returns in 2016-17 from both its domestic and international equity portfolios.

LAFPP is one of the largest public safety pension funds in the country, administering retirement benefits for almost 26,000 active and retired sworn employees of the City of Los Angeles.  More information is available at About LAFPP.
